Can I just buy a one way ticket to oz and then purchase my return ticket next year??

That should be no problem if you have a WHV . They may ask to see if you have enough money to do you for a first few weeks but not noramlly .
If you have a credit card bring it with you . If not maybe get one . You never have to use it but it proves you have access to cash at any stage to back a return ticket .

Thanks, all this is knew to me, have my visa booked just need to plan ahead.
If your planning on staying for a second year you just apply for your 2nd WHV(+Do your 3 months work), is there any need to come back to Ireland first or can u just stay in Oz yea?
